A Soffit is the underside of a structural component such as an overhanging cornice of a building extending out from the plane of the building walls.

  • 2. WHAT DO SOFFITS DO?

Soffits provide shading to walls and windows and also throw rain water clear of walls and windows immediately below, thus reducing the likelihood of water penetration – they operate in much the same way as an umbrella provides shade and protection from rain to your upper body.

  • 3. DOES A SOFFIT HELP WITH ENERGY EFFICIENCY?

Energy efficiency is affected by a number of factors - the location and orientation of the house, the climate, the design, the size and number of windows – as a result energy efficiency needs to be calculated on a case by case basis.

  • 4. HOW ARE GUTTERS PUT ON A HOME?

There are several different ways to mount gutters to a home – but the most common way is with hidden hangers attached to the flat fascia board under the eaves.

  • 5. WHAT IS A SEAMLESS GUTTER?

  • 6. ARE THERE DIFFERENT STYLES OF GUTTERS?

Yes. There are basically two styles. The standard K-style is used on the majority of homes and is available in the seamless option. The half-round style which, as the name implies is more rounded than the traditional K-style, is available in 20-foot lengths.
