Pre-finishing project

Advantages to Pre-Finishing

  • The materials are finished in a controlled environment and all surfaces can be sealed to help prevent shrinking and warping.
  • Products can be finished and ready for installation which will save a considerable amount of time with construction scheduling.
  • Custom-built windows and doors can be finished on all surfaces before the installation of glass and hardware.
  • Pre-finishing can minimize the use of chemicals on the job site and allow other tradesmen to do their job efficiently.

LandMark Exteriors' Hassle-Free Process

  1. Consultation: Each project starts with a consultation or appointment where we learn about your needs. We’ll provide you with beautiful design options, as well as efficient ways to make the most of your money. We always advise our clients to visit one of our showrooms to see firsthand the quality product options available for their home improvement project.
  2. Measurement: We visit your home and take initial measurements. After you’ve committed to work with LandMark, we return for a final measurement to ensure exact product sizes for installation. At that time, we’re happy to review the entire install process with you, the homeowners, so you know exactly what to expect with our expert installation process.
  3. Product order: Depending on the product ordered, delivery time can vary from 4-7 weeks. (Special/custom orders may take longer. Times vary during peak season.)
  4. Pre-Finishing: We offer custom stain and paint matching so your new windows and doors can be pre-finished before they’re installed. Our professional painter then finishes off the details in your home after the product is installed!
  5. Installation: Our installation experts are professionals who have experience installing our products in homes of all shapes, sizes, and styles. We pride ourselves in selecting the best installers for your project.
  6. Service: We have a high commitment to service and take pride in our work. We are constantly finding ways to improve our service times. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any concerns you may have.

The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) Lead; Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) rule took effect on April 22, 2010. The rule applies to all persons who are paid to perform renovation, repair and painting projects where painted surfaces are disturbed in pre-1978 housing, childcare facilities and schools where lead paint is present. Window and door replacement is impacted by the rule.

The rule contains requirements to distribute an EPA informational brochure in advance of the work and to follow lead-safe work practices outlined in the training, including proper clean up and verification testing to determine compliance with the rule, as well as requirements for proper record keeping.

The rule also requires all firms that perform renovations for compensation must be EPA certified and use certified renovators who are responsible for ensuring compliance with the rule’s work practice standards and for training workers on the work practices on the job.

For more information on Lead and Lead Safe Work Practices, view the EPA's "Renovate Right" brochure   here.
